Ohio Malleable Iron Co. workers escaped injury when a gas explosion on the west side of a large furnace hurled debris to the east, tore the furnace top, and caused $250,000 in damage. Firemen estimated the loss.
Three inmates from the Marysville Reformatory for women escaped Wednesday night by climbing down from a second story window with a sweater rope. Authorities found the trio Thursday hiding under a bridge outside Marysville and they are back in custody.
