Ruling of Court Blocks City's Equalizing Board
A Common Pleas Court temporary restraining order nullified a city hall hearing on storm sewer assessment objections. Judge Francis D White set a new injunction hearing for 10 am Monday Sept 17. Plaintiffs claim Clark and Wolfe on the board are not disinterested freeholders, citing City payroll and former council service. The petition lists 13 residents from Utah Place Strathmore area and objects to the board’s composition and to proposed assessments funding Storm Sewer District 4 bonds.

Relief Sought For Voters Who Move Between States
Ohio Secretary of State Ted W. Brown proposes recommendations to the Ohio Legislature and to other secretaries of state at a conference in Carmel California. He seeks to allow voters who move to or from Ohio to vote for president and vice president even if they have not lived in the new state a full year. Brown notes millions could be disenfranchised and suggests reciprocal reporting and a model law to permit national ticket voting with safeguards against fraud. Brown will also chair a national committee studying mechanical voting equipment.
