Reports from United Press describe two tropical hurricanes striking Belize and Puerto Rico, moving west toward the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Death tolls are uncertain, with radios noting hundreds may be killed and extensive property damage, including a destroyed city in Belize and vast food and medical needs. Americans among casualties.
Belize City in British Honduras was struck by a hurricane and tidal wave, with broad damage reported. Casualties likely run into hundreds. several American priests were killed, and U S consul Taggart was slightly injured. A Pan American Airways plane surveys Belize and relays urgent medical and relief needs. Emergency radio service has been restored to maintain continuous updates.
President Hoover has received reports of collusion to cut wages. Some time clock workers offered and accepted voluntary reductions of 15 to 20 percent for longer hours, with indications he will not interfere and that he supports his wage policy.
The final brick work on the Albany McArthur section of Federal Route 50 was completed Thursday by contractor Fred Beckler. Berm work is largely done while resurfacing between Fisher and Albany has traffic detoured via Route 56 to Route 75 into McArthur. Local motorists report use of a short county road between New Marshfield and Albany, which is hard surfaced.

Walter Guthrie 21 wounded his father Howard Guthrie 42 with a razor during a quarrel at their Central Avenue home. Howard was hospitalized in serious but stable condition and Walter was arrested by Chief Finsterwald and Officer Ator. Walter, paroled from Mansfield reformatory, claimed he intervened as his father throttled his mother. Prosecutor Bolin said Walter would be held pending recovery and possible return to Mansfield.
Sid Weil president of the Cincinnati Reds sent a letter to Cleveland management proposing a post season four out of seven games series between the Ohio clubs. Proceeds would fund charity work in Cincinnati and Cleveland, with players to vote before any reply.
Minnie Clark files in Athens County Common Pleas Court seeking 10000 dollars. She alleges Lillian Green alienated her husband Marcus Clark, causing abandonment of Mrs. Clark and her four children.
An official communique reports a mutinous movement within Bolivia's 1st Infantry Regiment. Sub Lieutenant Noe Ross was shot and killed during the incident, with reports detailing the fatal violence.

The high court names three judges to sit in the trial and weighs claims of immorality misfeasance and nonfeasance in a petition by about 1400 voters.
A huge explosion leveled a building at the Eastman Kodak Co plant in Rochester New York injuring twenty and killing three. Firemen and investigators worked through the wreckage as authorities began inquiries into the blast.
Britain faces the heaviest tax load in its history as Chancellor Philip Snowden proposes austerity to cover a deficit of 839 million dollars. Revenue rises hit workers and the rich with income tax rising to 25 percent, beer taxed, gas prices up, and an entertainment levy. Welfare and civil service pay are cut, with 20 percent for top officials and further reductions in defense, roads, and pensions.
H R McVay former superintendent of Athens County schools and longtime education leader died at his Athens home at 10 this morning after years of ill health. Funeral services are planned, with burial in the family lot. He leaves a widow and nine children. McVay led school consolidations, built new buildings including Amesville and Albany, and extended county programs during a 40 plus year career.

Raymond Bragg and Paul Forgey, already serving seven years in Moundsville for a Byrnaville robbery, are linked to the Coolville stamps theft and White Department Store burglary after postal inspectors traced stamps to Weston and questioned Bragg’s associates.

In Jonesboro Arkansas guards patrolled streets after a clash between a local preacher and visiting Texas evangelist Joe Jeffers. An attack on Mayor Herbert Bouler occurred during a defiant prayer meeting on city hall steps. Jeffers faces a mob violence charge. martial law may be considered.
Local police in Athens seek a 22 year old William Cook of near Athens on evidence tied to a June 5 robbery near Fremont. John Pappas Toledo restaurant cook was attacked struck with an automobile jack and dumped in a ditch at Muncie Hollow near Fremont. Robert Cook attempted to settle with Pappas, Fremont police refused.
Laymen of the Ohio Methodist Episcopal Conference nominate 21 for 16 positions as delegates to the 1932 National Conference at Atlantic City. Among those nominated were Mia, M. BE. Rathburn, Cutland, B. C. Ballinger, Logan.
