Vice President Breckinridge attended with many distinguished exhibitors as mower and reaper displays from Syracuse last July will be searched tomorrow. Weather was fair and crowds large, highlighting the strong contributions of agricultural machines.
Amos Clemson, a notorious grog leader imprisoned in the Eastern Penitentiary, died by his own hand in his cell this morning after a recent conviction for receiving stolen goods in Lancaster County. A large parade by the colored Odd Fellows marked laying the cornerstone for a new hall with lodges from New York Reading Harrisburg Newark Camden and nearby towns. About one thousand members attended.
