Logan hosts the 162nd Hocking County Fair at the fairgrounds from Monday September 14 to Saturday September 19. Opening day features small animal, rabbit and horse shows, swine showmanship, and a 7 p.m autocross in the Tanksy Motors Grandstands. OU ROTC to Host First Stair Challenge Memorial 9 11
Ohio University Army ROTC known as the Bobcat Battalion will hold a 6 a.m. Stair Challenge Memorial at Peden Stadium Athens Campus on Friday to honor 9 11 victims and responders. Participants will climb 2 071 steps, with a memorial ceremony opening and three random apparel prizes. The event aims to become a fundraiser for the Fisher House Foundation.

In Athens County 446 acres in Rome Canaan and Bern Townships were bought by Fair Chase Farms LLC from Deer Trail Farms LLC for just over 1.7 million dollars. The LLC was formed in May with Tyler Baesman as agent. Sealed bids for 22 window air conditioners are open until Sept 15 and include 5 000 BTU units 85 dollar minimums, 12 000 BTU units 225 and 239 300 dollar units. A public meeting on Dutch Creek Road improvements is set for Sept 10 at the County Engineer’s Office.
