In Helsonville a motorcycle and car crash on Route 33 left Ernestine Matney, 28, dead and Carl Cossin, 38, in critical condition at Mount St. Mary Hospital. Wilbur Walraven, driver of the northbound car, treated and released for cuts. Cordell and Mrs Cordell witnessed the collision as motorcycles traveled south toward Ripley.
