Ohio State Fair origin and Meigs County farm notes
Meigs County farmers read about the Ohio State Fair origin published in the 1849-1850 era report. The piece traces the fair’s start in Cincinnati, relocations to several cities, and its 1940s revival after wartime use. It discusses dairy production trends, regional auctions, and a Mississippi Valley Association soil conservation school set for Sept. 3–6 at Ohio State University to boost home production.
