State declines funding over Alexander levy dispute

Ohio Assistant State Superintendent Thomas Quick told an Alexander PTA meeting the state cannot take over a district’s finances by law. He said the community must fund its schools, while students urged support for the levy citing lack of books and programs. If the levy fails, consolidation with a neighboring district may be forced. The final citizens’ committee meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Alexander High School.
