Fire Destroys Five-Room Home in Apple Grove
Five room residence of Mr and Mrs James R Powers in Apple Grove was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon. Damage totaled about 9000 with 6000 in the home and 3000 in the contents. Origin unknown with fire dept arriving at 1 50 a m. Volunteers from Point Pleasant and other stations fought the blaze. A forest fire call in 18 Mile Creek drew Milton Conservation volunteers to assist later.

Probation Revoked for Bernard Wright in Mason County Court
The Circuit Court of Mason County revoked Bernard Wrights 30 day probation after he violated conditions. He had five days left to serve when the violation was found, and he was ordered to keep the peace for 30 days in the Justice of the Peace court of A M Goodwin.

Two Face Charges In Holdup Try
Two young men identified as Jesse Anderson of Gallipolis and Charles Toles of Point Pleasant were arrested after an attempted supermarket holdup at Kroger in Wheeling on Saturday. Store manager Kenneth Green scuffled with the masked suspects and knocked a gun away. Police chased a car across the Fort Henry bridge into Ohio before arrest.
