Silver Waits To Be Mined Silver Waits To Be Mined
In Sandon an 89 year old resident reflects on his youth when he found silver in the West Kootenay gorge. He recalls 23 hotels and 2300 miners as two railroads hauled ore, a mine yielding 200000 dollars in one week, and his role building a town from shacks before the Klondyke era declined. He believes ore remains but hard to locate until a new boom returns.
