Church Needs Lay Workers Says Speaker at Meeting
Attorney George G. Somerville told the Laymen's League at Trinity Methodist Church that many cannot afford not to volunteer for church work and that a church cannot succeed without lay help. He likened life to a railroad with each person on a different road but said all roads lead to Heaven if one follows the Saviour. The program included Raleigh Roush as chair, Milton Lewis with a psalm, prayers by D. W. Rothgeb, and Dale Wood singing Ivory Palaces. A city Harmon Field effort was assigned to a committee, and nominating slate was named for November elections with a dinner planned.
