Bubbling Brown Sugar delights Athens with Harlem revue energy
The Athens Ohio University Artist Series stage production Bubbling Brown Sugar brings Black American music to life with veteran leads and vibrant chorus numbers. Recognition goes to Strong ensembles and soloists like Teri Lindsey Rhetta Hughes Mable Lee and Thomas Tofel while deft direction preserves a Harlem past in Memorial Auditorium despite a mid show fire drill and minor pacing quirks.
