Forest Fire Sweeps 300 Acres Near Apple Grove

A Sunday forest blaze scorched about 300 acres of woodland in Apple Grove threatening two homes. Firefighters battled timber and pasture fires on land owned by Hanry Sibley J. S. Black and the Hereford property, bringing the blaze under control by nightfall. A second fire on the Cody Long farm behind Henderson was contained after about three hours with Leo Sayre and crew aiding. Rehearsals Under Way For Messiah Concert

Auto Upsets Two Escape Point Pleasant

Two men escaped serious injury Saturday when their car overturned on Route 35 about nine miles from Point Pleasant. Perry Livingstone and James Edward Lucas were taken to Holzer Hospital with facial injuries and observations. both were later released after state police investigated.
