Veterans Relief Commission Named To Aid Athens County

Athens veterans will receive help from a new five member Soldiers Relief Commission with a service officer to aid claim filing and legal rights. Appointed by Judge Rowland, the group includes Frank Harvey, William Christman, J Clyde Edmundson, Clarence A Parker, and Richard E Blair. The officer, to be hired, will work from a county office in the Court House. The salary will come from state funds, and the post requires an honorably discharged veteran. The commission aims to handle rising postwar claims for veterans and their families.
