In Glouster Ontario on Friday afternoon, Trimble miner Chris Skinner was seriously injured after a fall of coal. He fractured both bones in his left leg between ankle and knee, broke his lower jaw, and suffered a deep cut to the head. He was attended by Dr. von Scheele and transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus. He faces six to eight weeks of hospitalization.

Meigs Sheriff Seriously Injured In Auto Crash
Meigs County Sheriff Harry Mice Rice was seriously hurt when a car driven by him skidded on a curve near Logan Lancaster Road and toppled into a cornfield. Aboard were M. J. French Homer Shank and George Gilmore of Pomeroy who were slightly injured. The machine owned by Gilmore rolled three times, engine fire and rescue with dirt. Rice showed skull base injury. surgery and hospital reports indicated slight improvement by Saturday morning.
