Athens joins lawsuit against state over local income tax
Athens joins about 50 Ohio municipalities in a lawsuit challenging the state budget bill that shifts local business income tax collection to the state. The council approved the ordinance and Mayor Patterson signed it, arguing the measure undermines home rule and local self government.
