Ohio bill targets public money going to Planned Parenthood
A Senate vote of 23 to 10 clears a bill to divert more than $1 million in Ohio government funds away from Planned Parenthood. The measure would bar grants from the health department that fund infant mortality programs, HIV testing, cancer screenings, and violence prevention if an entity performs or promotes abortions or contracts with such entities. Critics say access to preventive care would shrink. supporters argue funding should favor alternatives to abortion.
