Commissioners Review Budget for New Municipal Court in Hocking County
Logan The Hocking County Commissioners on Thursday weighed budget needs for the Municipal Court to open January 1 replacing County Court. They noted higher costs may require increased court fees and discussed fulltime Judge Fred Murray’s salary of about 20 000. A plan for insurer payroll deductions and a West Logan sewer extension were also reviewed with bids planned for a Children’s Services vehicle and various budget transfers and bills approved.

The Friendly Circle at Trinity Church met Tuesday evening. Mrs. Erna Smith presented The Joy of Individuality and a meditation on Flowers in God's Garden. Officers elected for 1978 are Elizabeth Fick president, Pearl Mora vice president, Leonard Jewell secretary, Elza Gilmore treasurer. Certificates for Missions will be taken to World Community Day Service on Nov. 4. Dessert was served by Mrs. Robert K. Willson and Mrs. Opha Offut.

Hearing Held Over Dismissal Of Wellston Clerk
WELLSTON The Wellston Civil Service Commission met to hear the dismissal of former assistant city clerk Arlene Tribby. Tribby was dismissed in August for insubordination and discourtesy to the public. Eight city witnesses and seven from Tribby testified. the hearing adjourned after bargaining failed. A ruling may come in about two weeks.
