Two Miners Die in Glouster Slate Collapse
Two miners Pearl McClelland and Lewis D. Exline were killed in an eight ton fall of slate at the McClelland Mine in Glouster, Athens County, bringing total mine deaths to three in the day. Exline, formerly of Jackson, leaves a large family. McClelland, a Local 202 UMWA member, leaves a wife and four children. Services are planned Friday at the Church of Christ with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
