Dead convict cannot bequeath body to university research
In San Francisco on October 20, the state supreme court ruled that a person has no property rights in a dead body. Billy Monroe, 23, scheduled to be hanged October 24 at San Quentin Prison for murder, had planned to bequeath his body to the University of California for research.
