POMEROY Churches Pack UNRRA Clothing Shipment

Protestant churches of Meigs County completed a large UNRRA clothing drive. A total of 3 504 pieces weighing 2 908 pounds were packed at Federated Church and sent to the U S Procurement division in Cleveland. Ministers and laymen led by Reverends Lawrence Schmitt H A Rothrock Charles Baird Albert Bitters Ralph Kue ther with Mesdames Neva Seyfried Joe Cook Edna Reiber Constance then assisted in loading the goods.

Democrat Women To Meet Next Tuesday

POMEROY The Women's Democratic Club of Meigs County will meet Tuesday evening Oct 124 at the home of Mrs Gaynelle Young Wise with a potluck supper. Following the packing period the group was invited to the Kuether yame for lunch. In the 53 boxes required for the clothing there were 264 women s heavy coats 93 men s heavy coats 300 pieces of men s woolen goods 439 pieces of men s cotton goods 380 pieces of women s woolen goods 1 282 pieces women s cotton goods 61 pieces of bedding 685 pieces infant s wear. Rev Kuether and others of the committee thank all for cooperation.

Mrs. Fred D. Coulson of Malta spoke on the Daughters of the American Revolution work at the Return Jona than Meigs Chapter meeting in Middleport. The group discussed libraries for veterans hospitals, the Marine Hospital music room at Ellis Island, and planned purchases for Revolutionary Soldiers Buried in Ohio while welcoming new Regent Mrs. Patrick Lochary.

Married at Meigs Courthouse in Probate Court

At half past three yesterday afternoon in the chambers of Probate Judge Earl R. Titus Mrs Dolly Hicks of Pomeroy became the bride of Henry C Mougex of Dayton. The ceremony was performed by Justice of the Peace Percy Peoples. Courthouse employees witnessed the ceremony.
