Pension Plan Attacked By Ohio Attorney At Logan Meeting

Columbus attorney Daniel E. Bevis told the Logan Kiwanis Club that proposed Ohio constitutional amendments creating a costly pension program would cost about 310 million dollars annually and burden taxpayers. He argued a 20 mill tax on land would hit residents in built-up districts and warned the plan would shift state income tax control to the federal government. The second amendment, he said, could let small minority groups push broad new legislation onto ballots. He urged a strong no vote in the upcoming measures.
