William Manning and J S Jackson were arrested Saturday morning by Athens police on robbery charges for blowing open the Mountain State Natural Gas Co safe at Parkersburg West Virginia. They did not obtain cash. Arrested at Grace Price home by Marshal Finsterwald. Parkersburg police notified and retrieved the suspects.

The civil services examination for Athens free delivery mail carriers was held Saturday at the post office. Keating of the Cincinnati civil service commission and post office staff Fred Pickering and Earl Fuller supervised the test with eleven applicants.
