Athens County to Move County Court Offices
Athens County plans to relocate the County Court from a rented Route 13 building to the basement of the sheriff’s building likely in late 1962 or early 1963. Juvenile Court space will be reassigned, with Juvenile records moving back to the courthouse fourth floor. The move aims to save costs with rent-free, heated space and address space needs highlighted by the American Cancer Society unit requesting more room. The acting county dog warden reports 32 dogs impounded last week.
