County adds third full time paramedic to EMS
Athens County Emergency Medical Services won approval to hire another full-time paramedic as overtime and scheduling gaps strain the agency. Assistant EMS Chief Amber Pyle cited 569 unscheduled overtime hours in September, mostly by full-time staff filling holes. Chief Rick Callebs noted morale concerns as only eight of 24 part-time medics and technicians work regularly. The policy change was proposed at the county commissioners meeting.
