Two Federal Prison Escapees Captured Near Salem
Two of the Marion Federal Penitentiary escapees were captured miles from the prison after a car crash chase. Edward Roche and Maurice J. Philion were arrested within an hour of each other and returned to custody. The remaining two, Dennis Hunter and Henry Gargano, were still at large as officers widened the search with tracing dogs and local reports of water needs.

California parents dispute respirator death after medical error
The Uribes say they did not consent to unhooking the respirator that kept their 19 year old son Sammy alive for 18 days following brain death caused during surgery. A hospital report says an anesthetist placed an oxygen tube in the esophagus, cutting brain oxygen for about five minutes and contributing to death.
