Cleveland investigators join the manhunt for the killer of Isabel Zandorski, while authorities pursue leads in the East Orwell baby murder case as the investigation widens.
Four Cleveland detectives and Ashtabula officers search for Isabel Zandorski's killer after her body was found in a swamp near UNCLE in custody. Medical examiners report a base skull fracture and shattered ribs, describing brutal beating as the cause of death. Frank Knurick, 18, Isabel’s uncle, remained held for questioning without charges.

Van Wert October 14 The Eighteenth annual reunion of the Second Ohio Volunteer Infantry Spanish American War veterans concluded with election of officers. E F Thompson Bellefontaine was chosen president and D A Ligget Belle Center as vice president with Arthur Cares named secretary. Bellefontaine will host the next reunion.
Columbus October 14. The state tax commission released figures showing a $15,912,380 rise in the tax value of Ohio's steam railroads. The total 1926 tax value is $855,377,81 compared with $220,465,280 for 1925.
