Sidney Alexander Honored At OU Dinner For Renaissance Scholar
Sidney Alexander, Italian Renaissance expert and author of 12 books, was honored at a dinner hosted by Ohio University President Charles J. Ping. A former Morton Visiting Professor, he returned to Athens to teach in OU Study Abroad in Italy and will deliver a public lecture October 13 at Seigfred Hall Auditorium.

Skinner Installed Athens Kiwanis President For 1958
Ray Skinner Jr. was installed Monday as president of the Athens Kiwanis Club. Albert R. Durose, lieutenant governor of the Kiwanis 9th district, conducted the ceremony and urged Skinner to listen to others’ ideas while pursuing serendipity and the Reach Out theme. Athens merchants outlined a November program with Family Night Moonlight Madness on Monday. Stores will run 6 to 9 p.m. sales and a window decorating contest. Santa Parade at 6 30 p.m. on November 28 precedes Christmas lights and extended shopping hours to 8 30 p.m. Supt Henderson spoke on a school band issue on the November ballot.
