Grand Jury Indicts Eight in Athens County
Athens County grand jury indicted eight persons at the October session with arraignments set for 10 a.m. Wednesday. Indicted: Mark Edwards, Robert Hodes, Earl Landis, Donald Murnahan, Scott Gillman, Robert Van Meter, Gearoldean Teal, and Kay Nichols for crimes ranging from receiving stolen property and drug possession to forgery and embezzlement. The panel declined to indict several others and kept ongoing cases under review. The prosecutor said names were withheld to avoid premature release until indictments are served, a practice he will not continue.
