Plan to Give Wheat to Poor Outlined in Relief Bulletin
COLUMBUS Oct 10 A REA bulletin issued by Major E C Braught executive secretary of Governor White s Emergency Relief Committee outlines use of surplus wheat to feed the needy. Wheat would be made into bread and sold at minimum cost or donated with funds from organizations stored in mills. It proposes cooperation with millers to operate at cost or with a small toll and distributing resulting food to worthy families. It also suggests raw wheat be given to families or they work for portions and bring wheat to the mills. The plan aims to avoid impacting local trade and purchasing power. Each person would need about one pound of wheat daily.
