Albany Area Schools Weigh Consolidation Plan
Four Athens County boards, led by Albany's Marcus Lohr Jr., discuss regional consolidation at a Rome-Canaan High School meeting. Plans would pool six districts into a single admin unit with one or two centers, while debates over including Athens city schools and vocational training continue. A survey shows 80 percent of county students want vocational study. Committees will gauge public attitude before moving forward.
