State awards contracts for three road projects in Pomeroy
Division Deputy Actor C S Knicely announced that the state awarded three local street and road improvement contracts. One covers Second Avenue Cedar Street to Sycamore with a width of over half a mile, another improves Portsmouth Ave to Mound Hill Cemetery, and the third reroutes Route 7 near Garfield Avenue. The La Cavette Colony of Lockland OH won the $78,251.55 contract, engineers estimated $80,220.00, work to be completed by July 31, 1946.

Kerr sworn in as interim city manager in Callopolis
Homer W. Kerr was sworn in as city manager Tuesday afternoon serving in an interim capacity as the city commission fills the post until Roy Artlett, former highway engineer, completes a contracted engineering project with the French City Development Company by December 1. Kerr previously served as city manager during 1927-28.

GALLIPOLIS Preparations were made for the annual Christmas seal sale by the executive committee at their regular monthly meeting in the Gallia County Department of Public Health office. President Mrs Anna G White presided with vice president Mrs Fred Pymale and secretary Mrs Ernest Ruggs among others. Gallia Countys quota this year is fixed at 2800, up from 1800 last year when the quota was over subscribed.
