A self described eyewitness says Rev. Dr. Edward W Hall and Mrs James Mills were killed in a clash involving two men and a woman. The witness, from the Parker Home for the Aged, claims the scene involved a battle between a man and a woman on one side and two men and a woman on the other, challenging the charge against Clifford Hayes who is jailed on authorities reports.

The bronze bust honors Major Goodspeed and five markers memorialize the 136 West Virginia Infantry soldiers who died in the siege under General Grant.
Representative Theodore J. Burton states that the United States should not expect repayment of the eleven million dollar European debt within 25 years. He notes Belgium and Czecho-Slovakia may repay soon, but cancellation is out of the question and US must be repaid for Liberty bonds.
