Conference Tieup Hinted Shows Big Nine Rose Bowl Plan
A five year agreement proposal between the Big Nine and Pacific Coast Conference to select teams for a Rose Bowl appearance faces a conference vote. Illinois faculty disapproval signals hurdles as Ohio State Iowa and Indiana reportedly back the plan with Michigan a possibility. If approved the pact would allow Notre Dame, Michigan State and Marquette to represent the Midwest in years two and three, with expenses shared and limited pregame practice.
