The Ohio Council for Education named a three member panel from the National Education Association to evaluate the accuracy of pro and con statements on the proposed sales tax increase. The move comes amid heated arguments over Secretary of State Ted W Brown produced materials. The panel will hear from Brown Superintendent Holt and other officials. The tax plan would raise about 116 million dollars annually for schools by increasing the state sales tax from 3 to 4 percent.
