Dr and Mrs Harry Evarts and other Athens residents visited Flushing Meadows New York this summer. They advise pre planning and map guided routes to reduce walking 40 miles of sidewalks, note moderate lines, and suggest packing lunches. They recount family experiences with children, weather, transportation options, and unexpected acts of kindness at the fair.
The Athens State Hospital Auxiliary hosts the Oct 15 Country Fair with booths for Art Work crafts baked goods and gifts. The Ohio History Government and Citizenship Test sponsored by Ohio University with the State Department of Education was administered at Ames Bern High School on Oct. 1.
