Scouting on the Move in Athens County
United Appeals seeks support for a broadened Boy Scout program in Athens County led by new scout executive Joe C. Hawkins. The effort covers 12 troops, six Cub packs, and an Explorer post with facilities on a 35 acre site near Athens. Taylor notes benefits in citizenship and leadership training, cites past alumni success, and highlights juvenile delinquency reductions tied to scouting.
