Glouster CSO Bi weekly meeting to support service members
The Glouster Civil Service Organization will hold a bi weekly meeting at 8 pm in the American Legion Hall with no program. After business a public games party will raise funds to cover Christmas packages for service men and women. Deadline for overseas addresses is October 1.

Mrs. Kate Bartels hosted the Catholic Ladies Study Club in the church hall packing clothing for Europe war relief. Members sorted items before frames were played with defense stamps as prizes and lunch was served. Next meeting set for Oct 27 with Mrs. Elizabeth Chute as hostess. GLOUSTER Mr T H McCormick division landscape architect for the Department of Highways Marietta is in Glouster today viewing the site of the proposed roadside park in the field south of the stadium. He will collect data and report to the committee on the state's reaction to participating in the project.

Trimble Service Men Visit Glouster Community
Mrs. William Waller hosted her grandson’s wife Mrs. William Wright of Sharpsburg for a week. Wright received a letter saying her husband serves with a unit in the Fifth Air Corps in New Guinea. Ralph Judson, previously at Navy Pier Chicago, is visiting his wife and children before reporting to a Rhode Island port. Wendell Dunlevy spent a 72 hour leave, and Junior Strumm, Merchant Marine on leave, visited Glouster High School. Major and Mrs. Lowell Burnell of Cleveland stayed at their city home for the weekend.

Progressive Club Opens Year With Tea Meeting in Glouster
The Senior Progressive Club held its first meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. L. G. DeLong in Glouster on Tuesday evening. Retiring president Mrs. Sara Willis opened the session and passed leadership to Mrs. DeLong. Guests and members enjoyed a program of readings by Miss Beckler of Nelsonville, with assistance from members including Mrs. J. E. Anderson and others.
