Prague announces the Czech government will end its friendship treaty with Yugoslavia and demands recall of Ambassador Marijan Stilinovic amid accusations of Yugoslav agents in Czechoslovakia. It also renounces the Yugoslav cultural pact and recognizes the Chinese Communist government while breaking with the Nationalist regime.
Belgrade Premier Marshal Tito bluntly warned that Yugoslavia will defend itself to the last breath against Russia. He told army officers the Soviet bloc is cornered and could not justify attacks on Yugoslavia while pledging readiness to defend the country regardless of where the attack comes. He tied the threat to a prior charge that Moscow and its followers are rattling their arms near Yugoslavia's borders.

Alger Hiss asks to move his second perjury trial from New York City to the U S District Court in Vermont claiming an impartial jury cannot be seated in New York. His first trial ended in a deadlocked jury, eight to four for conviction. He faces retrial next Monday on charges that he lied about giving state department secrets to Whittaker Chambers.
Steubenville reports three men suspected in a Wintersville robbery also hit a church and parsonage. Sheriff Eberts said $100 was taken from K F Chriss grocery and apartment as authorities set roadblocks to trap the suspects.
Two Zanesville pilots were in an accident Sunday. One suffered a slight injury when his light plane crashed. the other escaped injury after bailing out from his glider.
In Cincinnati on Monday night Conley Morgan aged 18 and James McKinney aged 18, both Norwood residents, were killed when their automobile was struck by a Baltimore and Ohio passenger train. Morgan died instantly and McKinney died five hours later. the car was carried about 100 feet along the tracks.
President Truman flew to Fort Bragg North Carolina for a six hour visit to observe airborne troops in mock combat. He reviewed about 20 000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division and other units as paratroopers demonstrated airhead capture techniques with men supplies and heavy weapons ready for action.
In Dayton on Monday night William E Grigsby 29 was fatally shot during a cafe brawl. Jeffer son Hornsby and Boyd Minor were stabbed. Detective Lt Fred Smith said the cafe owner fired three shots into the air to restore order and one bullet struck Grigsby.
Lucy Lenhart Brehm 80 mother of Ohio Representative Walter E. Brehm died yesterday at her Somerset home. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2 p m at the Sopperset funeral home.

Five persons were injured when an automobile collided with a truck on Route 17 in Southside at 2:30 a.m. Edith Irene Kidd and James Young of Charleston were in the car. Russell Williamson, Ivan Newell, and James Hopson were in the truck. All truck occupants were Beech Grove residents. Williamson and Hopson were treated at Holzer Hospital and released.

A Valparaiso trucker, Frederick Orin Hamlin 27, died at the Taylorsville Dam near Dayton after his truck plunged from a 150 foot height into the Miami River. Coroner A P McDonald said death was by drowning and a fractured neck as the cab fell into the spillway.
