Ohio Supreme Court orders statewide referendum on the 1920 ratification of the federal prohibition amendment. The decision favored the wets and will be appealed to the U S Supreme Court by G S Hawke of Cincinnati. Secretary of State Smith prepared to place the question on November ballots.
Dominic Domincio of Gloucester testifies as the state’s first witness on the midnight June 1 entry charge. The defense claims Tracey was with neighboring girls at the time. the hearing features ongoing legal wrangling as the district agency presents evidence.

Four Columbus bread companies pleaded guilty in a Valentine anti trust case for forming an unlawful price fixing cartel. The Columbus Bread Company Bronneman Baking Reynolds Baking and Occident Baking admitted guilt with a deal to lower bread prices. Judge Duncan fined each company 1000 dollars plus 50 dollars per day for continuing higher prices after notice. Indictments against company officials will be nullified after compliance.
Senator Hiram Johnson arrived in San Francisco to rally against adopting the league of nations covenant without reservations. A large crowd greeted him at the station as he urged Americans to oppose sending U S troops to foreign wars and planned a luncheon address with business clubs.
New York report says members of the metal trades council meet to decide if nearly 500000 shipyard workers in the New York district should strike for a 44 hour week and 25 percent wage increase. A twelve year old boy known as Georgie Hendrick used multiple stories to mislead officers while traveling from Rutland to Athens in search of a home. He was identified by a Rutland woman as the Muchler foster child once taken from the Lancaster Industrial School. Funeral services for Hon. Jeremiah L. Carpenter were held at 10 o'clock this morning at 125 Morris avenue. Rev. Dr. Strecker of the First M. E. church led the service. Prof. C. L. Martzolff delivered a memoir praising Carpenter's life and character. A quartet including Mrs. Earl T. Dailey Miss Batley Mr. R. P. Tompkins and Mr. Cameron Gullette sang two hymns before the motor procession departed for Carpenter's burial site where interment will occur. Prof. Martzolff accompanied the party to reprise remarks at the second ceremony.
