In Mays Landing New Jersey the state presented its so-called mystery witness Harry F Sanderson of Sidney Ohio testimony linked Willis Beach to the crime scene of Dr William Lillien dale on September 15 1927. Sanderson testified he saw a blue coupe like Beachs near Hammonton and glimpsed a man in the roadside brush who resembled Beach. He said he could only state the man looked like the accused but could not confirm identity.
