Farm dance marriage in Franklinville county scene
A tipsy farmer's son dared to wed a farmer's daughter who accepted after a village dance in Franklinville. They married within the hour and now live with the groom's parents as they learn each other. The note recalls editorials on Horace Greeley and Andrew Curtis, and then shifts to a December 1877 item about Ohio Sabbath School Union donations and odd anecdotes including a Salem rat tale and a Cal. schoolmaster who killed himself after chalking a math problem.
