Tokyo officials rejected China’s call to join the Kellogg Pact protest against the Soviet invasion in Manchuria. They dismissed exaggerated troop reports and said London and Washington were not acting decisively.
Two air bandits landed at Hatbox Field Muskogee Oklahoma with a stolen aircraft after binding an airport attendant in Kansas City. They fled toward a hotel promising to return in the morning as police traced the license number. Bert Stephenson, owner, moved to recover the plane.
In London the cabinet discussed possible powers to end hostilities between Russia and China. Foreign Secretary Arthur Henderson told MPs the meeting addressed the situation in China and the potential for allied action.

C and O would issue 247,488 shares worth 24,748,000 to buy Hocking Valley and surrender 148,670 shares of the Co and H Line for the other barrier. The deal would place coal and freight routes from West Virginia and Kentucky under the Co and H Line, linking to the Great Lakes.
