Democrats Prove Loss of Retrenchment Failures

The Washington dispatch notes annual expenditures refute claims of Democratic savings. It says reform work has swollen government costs, while the Democratic House that promoted it ends the year with the worst extravagance in recent years. Contingent fund expenditures rose to $269,055, up $107,888 or 66 percent from the previous year.
