United Press reports rising tensions between Peru and Chile with Peru withdrawing consular staff. Mediation by the United States or another South American nation is considered likely to avert war. Possible recourse to a peace conference and league of nations is noted as a settlement path.
London report notes a new German protest against armistice conditions. General Von Winterfeldt objects to disarming the German army, arguing it would dissolve a force that stood for fifty months against superior numbers and kept a continuous front at ceasefire.
The farewell parade at Camp Sherman drew about 25,000 spectators as 26 26,050 selects marched three miles. General Matthew C. Smith and staff reviewed the event from the courthouse stand. Demobilization begins Thursday with 12,000 men to depart over six days, plus 2,000 from Camp Perry arriving for processing.

Washington announced that 382 officers and 6614 air service personnel and detachments in England will return home aboard the Minnehaha Lapland and Orca. The group sails from Liverpool after departures last Friday and Saturday, with arrival anticipated in New York by week’s end.
Britain and the United States agree on reducing British tonnage for homebound American troops. War Department officials say sufficient transports will meet demobilization needs with our ships and some Allied tonnage, though the cut in British aid has not yet occurred. A Washington dispatch reports Kaiser Wilhelm’s palace in Berlin filled with revolutionary shouts as Kiel sailors join the revolt. The piece discusses whether empire or Bolshevik influence will dominate Germany and the risk of wider anarchist upheaval spreading to allied nations, with no firm Allied plan yet.
In New York a clash broke out as 12 000 socialists gathered at Madison Square Garden. Soldiers sailors and marines fought through downtown streets. Police and mounted units eventually restored order while socialists faced a riot threat. Major Sam Johnson earned a Legion of Honor recommendation for leading colored troops in France. Captain Rafe Johnson was named for promotion to major for bravery at St Mihiel.
Rolland Newman of Dayton was in an automobile accident that left him badly bruised and with a foot injury but no broken bones. He is the son of Mr and Mrs A K Newman of Shade and brother to Mrs Garl Mansfield.
In Buenos Aires on November 26 the Peruvian foreign minister announced the withdrawal of all consular representatives from Chile following anti-Peruvian demonstrations in Iquique. The dispute stems from Tacna and Arica, provinces Peru claims lost to Chile. Bolivia backs Peru and aims to gain a Pacific port at the peace conference.
The Berlin Vorwaerts, mouthpiece of the Ebert government, denounces the Bavarian disclosures on the war origins. It accuses Berlin of inciting Vienna and branding the German claim of enemy aggression as a lie. The warning targets a counterrevolutionary plot and labels the involved group as murderers planning a rerun of power.
Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Stuart of Albany with Miss Martha Welsh of Carpenter will depart Tuesday for Los Angeles to establish their home. Friends extend best wishes to them in their new residence.
Columbus Ohio November 26 The Jennings Coal Company of Athens and Utley was incorporated for 250000 dollars by Albert Gould Jennings Clarence M Gill Roger J Jones William J Jackson and Frank L Galbraith in today’s filing.
At a called meeting Mayor Woodworth led the council to fix Athens gas rates at thirty cents for two years, replacing the previous thirty-five cent level. The move follows an investigation of regional gas prices and a lack of an active city rate ordinance.
The Armory is used by students after school with Supt and teachers coordinating. Fourth to eighth graders train 2:30 to 3:30 daily led by Thor Olson and Mrs Olson, focusing on calisthenics and drills. High school girls join at 3:30, with boys later able to practice basketball and organize teams on specified weeknights. Access is free with only gym shoes required.
