Breakfast with Santa lights up galaxy themed event in Vinton County
Vinton County hosts a pancake breakfast with sausage, hash browns and refreshments at the Community Building on December 12. Tickets cost 3 dollars, doors open 8 30 a m, breakfast starts 9 a m. Children meet Santa after breakfast, receive a drawstring bag, and can build a lightsaber. Photo copies available at the Courier office. Three men arrested in Vinton County traffic stop shooting
Police describe a Nov. 13 wildlife stop in northern Vinton County that led to shots fired and a multi-day manhunt. Tim Ousley, Kevin Wright, and Shawn Barber faced felony charges including meth trafficking, with Wright charged for felonious assault. Ousley and Wright were captured. Barber arrested. officers recovered a handgun, an assault rifle, and narcotics.

Stabbing Leaves Two Hospitalized After Early Morning Incident
Athens police responders found Randy Sidders injured at East State Street residence around 6 20 a m Tuesday. Sidders said a known individual stabbed him and fled to a nearby apartment. The suspect, unnamed, was detained for further investigation. Sidders was flown by helicopter to a Columbus hospital while the suspect was treated at OhioHealth O Bleness Hospital. The case remains under inquiry.
