Break for Freedom Ends at Folsom Prison Standstill
One thousand two hundred barricaded inmates surrendered after a 20 hour siege at Folsom Prison in California. Nine people died and 22 were wounded, including two guards. The seven ringleaders were placed in solitary confinement, names not disclosed. Deputy guards and state militiamen assisted in the shutdown.
