New Haven Community Clubs Share Holiday Plans
New Haven notes from MADOLYN VANCE cover Avalanche Home Demonstration Club gatherings at Mrs. Harry Staats home with devotions by Eleanor Sayre and a film shown by Robert Rickard. Planned events include Holiday Foods on Nov 30 at Appalachian Power Auditorium Point Pleasant and a December 30 workshop at Krodel Park plus an all day Christmas pot luck and gift exchange. Ten members attended. Cherokee Home Demonstration Club met at Alex Quillen Memorial Building planning a January bazaar. Sewing Club held its annual Turkey Dinner for sixteen. Bridal Shower for Mary Ann Rickard hosted by Mrs. Gibbs Lathey and Lloyd at Mason Catholic Parish House with about 50 guests. St Paul Lutheran Church held a Stewardship Dinner for 65. P T A reported $556.20 carnival profit and gravel driveway needs. Other groups noted include Smith Capehart Post 140 Auxiliary, Dorcas Circle, WSWS officers, and New Haven EUB Brotherhood with Thanksgiving theme and a 14-member quartet.
