A 14 year old girl who rushed back into the house to save her 5 year old sister was among three children killed in an early morning fire near Oberlin. Clarence Clark described pulling his daughter from the blaze as the metal prefabricated home burned rapidly. The children Judith Ann and Cindy, both found in a bedroom, and Clarence Jr., age 3, perished. Mrs. Clark and a 2 week old infant escaped with two daughters Sharon 17 and Audrey 10. Fire officials attributed the fire to a wood and coal burning stove and the home was leveled within two hours. Police described the scene as inaccessible and the fire predominantly internal. The report notes the five day forecast accompanying the dispatch.

He is charged with violating three sections of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and a tentative court-martial date is December 13. Howe hails from Boulder Colorado and was reportedly among demonstrators opposing U S involvement in Viet Nam.
