Community Chest drive total at noon reached 11 305 26 dollars with 3 694 74 to reach the 15 000 goal. Reports from teams outside Athens lag, while Majestic and Columbia Theaters are expected to add funds and push the final tally near the target.

Lawson was returning home from Valley Dale at 115 a m Slater traveled with her husband Ned Slater who was cut about the face.

Mil word Vanik a 25 year old Cleveland balloonist who had been missing for 80 hours was found injured after a landing near Jean Lakes close to Toronto Canada. The warning telegram was received by his mother Mrs. Jennie Vanik of East Cleveland.

Elmer Guesman and Raymond Lohse of Athens Township were fined $25 plus costs after pleading guilty to hunting without licenses. B F Schwartz of state game protection made the arrest. C B Wilson of Athens pleaded guilty to intoxication and was fined $10 and costs. Wilson pled not guilty to obscene language in the presence of a woman and was bound over to Athens County Common Pleas Court under a 200 bond. Thomas Barrett was arrested in Columbus on an affidavit by his wife for failure to provide for minor children. he pleaded not guilty and was bound over under $400.
In Mt Sterling Kentucky five men indicted in Harlan County for the ambush slayings of three deputy sheriffs during a May coal mine riot faced swift changes in Montgomery County Circuit Court. At the commonwealth's request the prior murder indictments were re submitted to the Montgomery Grand Jury which promptly handed up new indictments for aiding and abetting accessory before the fact and conspiracy to commit murder.
